INDOOR AUTO RACING RETURNS
TO AC BOARDWALK HALL IN 2010

TRENTON, NJ (ATLANTIC CITY, NJ) ... July 29th, 2009 –
Thrilling indoor auto racing is returning to Atlantic City’s Boardwalk Hall on January 30-31, 2010.

High-powered, TQ Midget race cars will headline the two-day card for the eighth consecutive year. Some 100 drivers are expected to contend for the Gambler’s Classic title.

Indoor racing is considered one of the most-competitive forms of motorsports. It is common for the cars to be separated by inches throughout an entire race. The exciting environment of racing indoors in front of several thousand fans attracts many top drivers. For the fans, the action is right in front of their eyes, not miles away, with replays shown on the hall's video screens.

Current and defending NASCAR Whelen Modified Tour champion Ted Christopher of Plainville, Conn., won the most recent Gambler’s Classic feature. “Racing indoors is so intense for a driver, and it is just as intense for the spectators,” Christopher said. “I know race fans will want to experience the speed and tight competition that happens when you are racing indoors.”

Dirt Modified standout Billy Pauch of Frenchtown, N.J., who has more than 700 victories to his credit, is a regular entry in the Gambler’s Classic. Pauch captured the Friday night race this past January.

Ryan Truex of Stafford Twp., N.J, was a last-minute entry indoor entry in January. Truex, the younger brother of NASCAR Sprint Cup Series driver Martin, has won NASCAR Camping World East Series races as a driver with Michael Waltrip Racing this year.

And the speed of indoor racing is getting quicker. In January, Lou Cicconi Jr., posted a record-setting 8.982-second lap at Boardwalk Hall.

Last winter on the indoor Midget circuit, Cicconi defeated NASCAR Sprint Cup star Tony Stewart in Fort Wayne, Ind.

Details for the eighth annual A.C. Boardwalk Hall race are still be finalized. However, it’s confirmed that the powerful and thrilling TQ Midget race cars will be in competition on both nights. Each program will be highlighted  by a main  event, with 24 drivers competing.

The Slingshot and Champ Kart race cars, which provide just as much entertainment as the TQ Midgets, will be on the card each night as well. Defending champions are Paul Lotier Jr. of Lebanon, Pa. (Slingshots) and Ryan Kendall of East Greenbush, N.Y. (Champ Karts).

Tickets will go on sale through Ticketmaster on Wednesday, August 19 at noon. Ticketmaster can be reached by calling (800)-736-1420 or online at www.ticketmaster.com.

Information on the event is available at aarn.com or by calling (609)-888-3618.
